The International Center of Neurological Restoration CIREN
In February 1989, the International Center for Restorative Neurology CIREN (CIREN), Havana, Cuba, was founded. CIREN is a modern medical and scientific institution that specializes in neurological and biological rehabilitation programs.
CIREN specialists have developed and are constantly improving their neurorestorative program. This program has an innovative and specialized approach to the rehabilitation of patients with neurological diseases. The main goal of the program is to improve the quality of life of patients, promoting functional recovery and independence in everyday activities. It is based on neuroplastic stimulation, which is the ability of the brain to reorganize and adapt through specific stimulation and training.
The medical services of the center are certified according to the international quality standard ISO 9001. The center owes its reputation to dedicated specialists, researchers and service personnel, whose main task is to give you hope. The International Center for Neurological Rehabilitation has highly qualified neurologists, neurosurgeons, pediatricians, neuropsychologists, specialists in physical rehabilitation of patients, speech therapists, and junior medical staff on its staff.
The Center for Restorative Neurology CIREN unites four clinics
CLINIC |
main diseases |
Clinic for the treatment of movement disorders
|
|
Clinic for the treatment of static brain lesions |
(treatment of complications resulting from damage to brain vessels, brain injuries, cerebral palsy) |
Pediatric neurological clinic (treatment and rehabilitation if children aged 1 year+) |
|
Clinic for the treatment of spinal cord trauma, neuromuscular and sclerotic diseases in adults |
|
Our rehabilitation is based on the principles of neuroplasticity, which consist of training some neurons to perform the functions of damaged neurons. Doctors train neuroplasticity not for 1, 2 or 3 hours, or when the opportunity arises, but on average - 7 hours a day
Program characteristics
- Specialized: CIREN's neurorestorative Program focuses on the rehabilitation of patients with neurological diseases, which allows for specialized care tailored to the specific needs of each individual.
- Innovative: the program's approach is based on neuroplastic stimulation, an innovative technique that takes advantage of the brain's ability to reorganize and adapt itself. This allows for significant results in the functional recovery of patients.
- Multidisciplinary: CIREN's team of professionals is made up of experts in different areas such as neurology, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and psychology. This multidisciplinary approach guarantees a comprehensive and personalized treatment for each patient.
- Personalized: it is adapted to the individual needs of each patient, taking into account their specific neurological condition, rehabilitation goals and abilities. A comprehensive assessment is conducted to design a personalized treatment plan that precisely addresses each person's challenges and goals. Intensive: This is carried out in a constant and concentrated way, with frequent daily sessions to maximize the intervention time and accelerate the recovery process. A total of 5-7 hours would be spent daily on different therapies and techniques. This intensity of treatment helps to enhance brain plasticity and promote the neuronal reorganization necessary for rehabilitation.
- Comprehensive: covers different aspects of the patient's health and well-being, including physical, cognitive, emotional and social rehabilitation. The program focuses on improving the overall functionality of the individual, not just specific aspects, which promotes a full and sustainable long- term recovery.
- Multifactorial: it combines various therapeutic strategies and addresses multiple factors that influence neurological recovery, such as sensory stimulation, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, psychotherapy and other complementary approaches. This combination of techniques and therapeutic approaches allows the different dimensions of the rehabilitation process to be comprehensively addressed.
- Effective: thanks to the combination of advanced techniques, a highly trained team and a comprehensive approach, CIREN's neurorestorative program has proven to be highly effective in improving the quality of life, functional recovery and independence of patients with neurological disorders. All 4 clinics are equipped with the latest equipment, which allows us to perform first-class surgeries. Minimally invasive surgeries allow doctors to penetrate deep into the patient's brain and restore some of its functions. Among others, the center performs surgeries to treat Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, brainstem tumors, dystonia and other movement disorder.
- Stereotactic surgery allows you to remove benign brain tumors and reduce the volume of malignant ones.
With the help of minimally invasive surgery, doctors have the opportunity to operate on patients with cerebral vascular malformations. - Endoscopy is used to treat occlusive hydrocephalus, intraventricular tumor lesions and any type of disc herniation.
- Ozone discolysis (ozonucleolysis) - treatment of pain caused by a herniated disc
- With the help of minimally invasive surgery, doctors have the opportunity to operate on patients with cerebral vascular malformations.
For more than 35 years, the CIREN rehabilitation center has been helping thousands of patients change their lives for the better.
